Torque Split
Note: Bias ratio is the maximum torque ratio between fast and slow wheels. Torsen diffs are torque-sensing and react instantly. Clutch types can be tuned with preload and ramp angles. SAE paper 2005-01-0408.
Reference
Weak Side = Input_torque / (1 + Bias_ratio) + Preload
Strong Side = Input_torque − Weak + Preload
Bias Ratio = Strong / Weak (max varies by type)
Effective Lock % = (1 − Weak/Strong) × 100
Clutch: up to 5:1, Torsen: up to 3.5:1, Viscous: ~2:1
