Engine Displacement Calculator

Calculate engine displacement in liters and cubic inches from bore, stroke, and cylinder count.

The internal diameter of each cylinder. This determines the cross-sectional area of the piston face.
The distance the piston travels from top dead center (TDC) to bottom dead center (BDC). Longer stroke means more displacement per cylinder.
Total number of cylinders in the engine. Common configurations: 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 10, 12, 16.

References:
Displacement = (π/4) x bore² x stroke x number of cylinders. A bore/stroke ratio > 1.0 is oversquare (favors high RPM), < 1.0 is undersquare (favors torque), and = 1.0 is square. 1 liter = 1000 cc. 1 in³ = 16.387 cc.
